Roundtable on Interrelation of Public Policy, Migration and Development Issues

A Round Table on Interrelation of Public Policy, Migration and Development Issues will be held on 4 July 2014 at the Public Service Development Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. The event is organized by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in cooperation with the Secretariat of the State Commission for Migration Issues.

The OECD Development Centre is carrying out a project, co-funded by the EU Thematic Programme on Migration and Asylum, on the interrelations between public policies, migration and development of partner countries. Given the significant weight of migration and its importance for the development of the country, Georgia is one of the ten countries involved in the project.

As presented in the kick-off workshop which took place in Tbilisi on 25 July 2013, the overall objective of the project is to enhance partner countries’ capacity to incorporate the migration aspects into the design and implementation of their development strategies, through a better understanding of the links between sectoral policies and migration.

The meeting aims at presenting the progress made since the outset of the project.
