Meeting of the Working Group for Consolidation of Reintegration Activities

The Working Group of the State Commission on Migration Issues working on the Consolidation of Reintegration Activities gathered for its 9th extended meeting in Courtyard Marriott Hotel on 15th October.
The meeting was organized jointly by the coordinating authority of the Working Group – the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, together with the Secretariat of the State Commission on Migration Issues and International Organization for Migration, within the framework of EU-funded project.
The representatives of state authorities, international and local non-governmental organizations who attended the meeting, discussed the projects and programmes designed for assisting reintegration of Georgian returnees.
Mobilizing assistance for reintegration of returned Georgian nationals is one of the objectives stipulated by the Georgia-EU Association Agreement and the Visa Liberalization Action Plan. It’s noteworthy that from 2015 the relevant funds will be earmarked in the state budget to support reintegration activities.
The Working Group for the Consolidation of Reintegration Activities, coordinated by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia comprises 6 state agencies. The Group will continue the active work for providing support to reintegration of returned Georgian migrants.
